Even in a cycling country like Belgium, Antwerp is still not really seen as a cycling city. The start of the Tour of Flanders was the perfect opportunity for the city of Antwerp to encourage more people to take the bike.
Virtual hotspot
And what better way to do this than to let your visitors experience it themselves? The city sought a virtual reality partner to set up their campaign and found a match in Soulmade. How did we get this done? The city of Antwerp picked Soulmade for the execution of the idea, the fast communication, technical knowledge and technique.
We distinguished ourselves from the competition by focusing on the “I”-experience. We designed a special camera technique that gives the VR user the impression of sitting on a bike themself, where competitors suggested filming from an external point of view.

How does it work?
We recreate your ideal world in virtual reality by filming a 360° video on-site or by recreating it in 3D.

Personal Virtual Reality Tour
The virtual bike ride takes you to all the hotspots of Antwerp. You pass the MAS, the pedestrian tunnel, the central station and many other attractions. A guide gives you some extra information during the bike ride.
By moving your head, you can see the whole area and at the VR booth, you’re actually sitting on a typical, red Antwerp bike. That brings the whole experience to life.
